Due diligence in Malta is shared between three people: your notary (the legal title), your architect (planning and condition) and you (money, insurance and practicalities). Work through the list below during the promise-of-sale period — tick items as you go; your progress is saved in this browser only.
How to use this checklist
Start before you sign the konvenju. The most important protection is to write the right conditions into the promise of sale, so that you can withdraw with your deposit if a check fails.
Share it. Send the relevant section to your notary and architect so everyone knows what you expect.
Keep the paperwork. Permits, surveys and searches become part of your title file — you will need them when you sell.
