Naxxar sits on high ground in the centre-north of Malta. Its historic core around the parish church gives way to modern residential streets and, to the north, the villa ridge of San Pawl tat-Targa — one of the most exclusive addresses on the island.
The town
The parish church of Our Lady of Victories faces a lively square of cafés and restaurants. Opposite stands Palazzo Parisio, a grand palazzo with formal Baroque-style gardens, open to visitors and used for events. The village core has narrow streets of old townhouses, many restored as houses of character.
