Mellieħa sits on a ridge at the north of Malta, looking down over Mellieħa Bay — one of the island’s largest sandy beaches — towards Comino and Gozo. The village has a strong community, a striking parish church and a relaxed, seaside rhythm.
The landscape
The north of Malta is greener and more open than the harbour area. The Red Tower — St Agatha’s Tower, built by the Knights — stands on the ridge above the bay. Anchor Bay, Golden Bay and the nature reserves around the bays are all nearby, and the ferry port of Ċirkewwa is minutes away.

- Families — space, beaches and a village community.
- Second-home owners — and those who travel regularly to Gozo.
Practicalities
A car is useful — Mellieħa is further from Valletta and the harbour towns than central villages, though buses run to Valletta and Ċirkewwa. See driving in Malta. Non-EU buyers need an AIP permit, as there is no SDA in Mellieħa.
