A gated marina development in St Julian’s around the Portomaso Tower, with 24-hour security, a yacht marina, a hotel and restaurants on the doorstep. Much of Portomaso is within a Special Designated Area, so non-EU buyers can usually purchase without an AIP permit.
Apartments are the largest part of the Maltese market. Most are in blocks of a few floors with a lift; the better ones have sea or harbour views, a garage space and a terrace. Check whether common parts and the building are finished and who manages them.
